WACDA Conference Call for Choral Scores

Call for Choral Scores – ACDA Western Region Conference

The American Choral Directors Association, Western Region invites composers who were born or currently reside in Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, or Utah to submit a choral composition to this call for scores. Five to seven compositions will be selected for a reading session at the 2022 Western Region Conference on Friday, March 4, 2022 in Long Beach, CA.

Applicants should self-identify as in the pre-professional stage of their composing. In other words, this session—a reading of the piece with an audience of choral conductors—should represent a significant opportunity for applicants. There is no age limit for this call, and no submission fee.

Selected composers will have the option of receiving free admission to the ACDA Western Region conference, and are encouraged but not required to attend. Travel and lodging will not be provided. Composers do not need to be a current member of ACDA to apply.

This reading session will be part of the 2022 ACDA Western Region Conference’s Composer Track. All composers participating in this reading session and the Composer Track will be invited to concerts, interest sessions, and social events fostering connections between composers and conductors.

Composers should submit one original composition of any voicing (SATB, SSAA, or TTBB) at the following link (bit.ly/WACDAcallforscores). Compositions may be unperformed or previously performed, but they must be either unpublished or self-published.

The deadline for this call is October 31, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. Email with any questions.
